The K–5 Intervention Specialist is a compassionate, student-centered educator dedicated to helping every child reach their fullest potential.
This role focuses on providing targeted academic and behavioral support to students who need additional assistance, ensuring that all learners experience success, confidence, and a sense of belonging in the school community.
The ideal candidate is someone who believes deeply that every child can learn, and who approaches their work with empathy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit. Key Responsibilities Deliver Targeted Instruction :
- Provide small-group and individualized interventions in reading, writing, and mathematics using evidence-based instructional practices aligned with the district’s MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) framework.
Monitor and Support Growth :
Assess student progress regularly through formal and informal measures; use data to adjust instruction and celebrate growth—no matter how small.Collaborate with Teachers and Staff :
Partner with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators to design strategies that support diverse learners within and beyond the classroom.Advocate for Students :
Serve as a voice for students who may struggle academically, socially, or emotionally, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and supported.Engage Families :
Communicate regularly and compassionately with parents / guardians, sharing progress and strategies that help reinforce learning at home.Promote a Positive Learning Environment :
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space where students are encouraged to take risks, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.Professional Growth :
