- Position Overview :
- You will be responsible for growing our HVAC division. Our HVAC business is small but growing quickly. We need someone to help our techs with specifying, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems. Tasks include on-site reviews for pricing, sizing and locating new units as well as helping advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC issues. Other tasks include providing excellent customer service and driving to and from various job sites. The HVAC Technical Lead will supervise the work of others and provide appropriate training.
- Essential Functions
- Reviewing residential homes in order to make recommendations for new HVAC solutions. Able to size new equipment as well as design a system for an existing home.
- Assist customers and the company specify and price new systems.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency within the HVAC division.
- Diagnose HVAC problems, determine the best course of action, and provide cost estimates to customers.
- Support with diagnosis and repair work on heat pumps, air conditioning, boiler systems, heat pumps, evaporative condensers, water pumps, compressors, electric motors and HVAC units ensuring all work is completed to code and in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Understands and establishes best practices for preventative maintenance on the same equipment as listed above to assure optimal operating efficiencies and less downtime for the customer.
- Inspect HVAC systems and identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
- Educate customers on proper maintenance and care of HVAC systems to prevent future problems.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior HVAC technicians.
- Oversee inventory management for HVAC-related tools, parts, and equipment
- Collaborate with team members and dispatch to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of service requests.
- Minimum Skills and Experience Required
- EPA Certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of trade experience required
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and diagrams
- Ability to spec, design and quote new HVAC systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Ability to utilize tablet / smartphone to track orders, jobs, and work performed
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency repairs and service
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with customers
Job Types : Full-time, Contract
Pay : $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
