Vesper Energy is seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Site Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of utility-scale solar facilities. This role ensures that the site operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting environmental, regulatory, and contractual obligations. The Site Operations Manager will be responsible for managing contractors, optimizing plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and serving as the primary point of contact for on-site activities.
The role will involve the management of a recently built 600 MW A / C project utilizing industry-leading panels, trackers and inverters. This is one of the largest solar facilities in the United States and is already operating at high levels of availability and reliability. Role Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, operations management, or related field. Equivalent military, technical, or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or industrial operations may be considered. Advanced certifications (NABCEP, OSHA, PMP) preferred.
Years of Experience : Minimum of 3+ years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or power plant operations.
Additional Skills, abilities & knowledge :
Strong understanding of utility-scale solar plant systems, including inverters, trackers, transformers, and SCADA systems.Proven ability to manage contractors, vendors, and service providers.Knowledge of safety standards, environmental compliance, and best practices for plant operations.Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and organizational abilities.Familiarity with performance monitoring systems and asset management tools.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with CMMS or work-order management software is a plus.Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel to assigned sites as needed.Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of solar facilities in compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Lead daily site operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor oversight, and emergency response.Monitor plant performance, investigate underperformance, and implement corrective actions to optimize energy production.Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for landowners, contractors, regulatory inspectors, and other stakeholders.Develop and implement site-level operating procedures and maintenance schedules.Maintain accurate site records including safety logs, maintenance reports, and compliance documentation.Support preparation of operating budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective site performance.Coordinate with Vesper’s central operations, engineering, and asset management teams to ensure alignment on performance targets and reporting.Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant availability and reliability.Enforce contractor performance standards and ensure timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
