Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 30 PM | Onsite (5 days / week) with potential hybrid flexibility after training

About the Role
A leading global insurance and financial services company is seeking a highly organized and proactive Labor and Employment Paralegal to join its House Counsel Team in Houston, TX.
This role supports attorneys handling labor and employment litigation , including responding to demand letters, managing discovery, and assisting with state, federal, and agency cases. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth case progression and maintaining accurate documentation across multiple active matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with employment-related cases and litigation.
- Prepare, assemble, and serve discovery demands, responses, and related correspondence.
- Draft and edit legal documents such as motions and reports.
- Manage and maintain case files, including discovery tracking and data entry in ProLaw .
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff to meet all deadlines.
- Prepare summaries of discovery responses and claim files for attorney review.
- Assist with trial preparation , document organization, and submission of filings.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and e-filing procedures .
Qualifications
3–5 years of Paralegal experience (10+ years a plus).Prior employment law or insurance defense experience preferred.Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat ; ProLaw experience a plus.Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred but not required.Team & Environment
Reports to an experienced legal operations manager overseeing multiple regional offices.Work alongside a tight-knit legal team (3 Employment Attorneys, 1 Legal Assistant, 1 Paralegal).Office manages 100–135 active employment cases – fast-paced, but highly collaborative.Professional yet friendly culture where teamwork, communication, and initiative are valued.Business casual dress code (jeans permitted on Fridays).Interview Process
