Senior Financial Analyst

I'm partnered with a Fortune 200, global, multi-billion dollar manufacturing company near South Elgin, IL. They have over 40 holding companies and are now seeking to bring on a Senior Financial Analyst to their team due to an internal promotion. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll work hand-in-hand with senior leaders and the accounting team to conduct variance analysis, provide impactful insights that shape strategic decisions, and drive forecasting across multiple teams. You'll also serve as a trusted local business partner, working cross-functionally to analyze performance across departments, enabling data-driven decisions that fuel profitable company growth.

Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities :

• Partner closely with plant leadership to deliver financial insights that influence operational strategies and enhance overall performance.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial results, focusing on plant costs, inventory management, and critical operational KPIs.
• Work collaboratively with teams in operations, sales, HR, engineering, quality, and supply chain to drive cost-efficiency and process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for plant operations, ensuring financial statements are accurate and complete.
• Build, refine, and maintain financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Conduct variance analysis on materials, labor productivity, production output, and overhead expenses; share actionable recommendations with leadership.
• Provide analytical support for capital expenditure projects, including ROI assessments and post-project evaluations.
• Lead and validate the plant's annual physical inventory count to ensure accuracy.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of the general ledger and cost allocation processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements, while identifying areas to streamline and automate processes.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 4 years of experience in a finance-focused role.

Background spanning both accounting and finance is a plus.

Prior exposure to a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
