• Deter criminal activity and misconduct; investigate suspicious situations; perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Communicate by use of 2-way radios, telephones and computers
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying prohibited articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate physical security requirements
• Conduct patient escorts, patient watches, provide safety escort, assist and / or transport deceased to morgue
• Complete required shift logs and reports; compliance with site post orders, and Health First policies and procedures
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Aid associates, patients, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by Security supervision
• Maintain required certifications, licensing, and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Experience :
• Associates hired after April 1, 2021 must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes
• At least one (1) year verifiable work experience preferably in courier, security, or customer service role
• Licensure :
• Current, valid driver's license required. State of Florida driver's license required within 30 days of establishing Florida residency and maintain
• Clean State of Florida Motor Vehicle Record
• Class D Security Officer License preferred
• Certification :
• Must complete American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Course within 60 days of hire and maintain certification
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
• Expected completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days
• Physical ability to deal with or subdue mental health patient in crisis
• Must be willing to carry out tasks that may require entering the hospital morgue and the roof-top helipad
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitors
• Ability to actively listen, interact cordially and effectively communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
• Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversation and symbols in the English language
• Attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Must be able to climb up to nine (9) flights of stairs
• Must be able to withstand extreme heat and cold
• Must be able to listen, speak, walk, stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time, for assigned shift
• Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able & willing to properly wear Personal Protective mask & gloves for assigned shift
• Must be able to respond within 90-seconds of an urgent duress call
