Job Overview
The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical health insights. This role performs advanced blood specimen collection and processing while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service .
Successful candidates may be assigned to a Patient Service Center, physician office, or multiple locations based on business needs and training availability.
Key Responsibilities
Draw high-quality blood specimens using skillful, safe, and accurate techniques.Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.Verify patient demographic information and confirm specimen labeling in the patient's presence, including patient signature post-venipuncture.Explain procedures clearly to patients, fostering trust and confidence.Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data entry.Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.Travel between locations and provide coverage at Patient Service Centers or in-office sites with minimal notice as required.Required Skills & Experience
Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections .Strong decision-making skills using established procedures and sound judgment.Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing schedules.Superior customer focus with strong communication skills.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).Flexibility for travel, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage.Education & Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA).Work Experience
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience (required).Experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (highly preferred).Keyboarding and data entry proficiency .Benefits
