Summary To provide both scheduled and ad-hoc pickup / delivery service of interoffice mail, packages, program materials and other routine and specialized logistic needs. Coverage includes both New York City boroughs, Yonkers and, as needed, the tri-state area. Hours will be standardized, to accommodate pickup / delivery routes, however flexibility or additional hours may be required depending on any time specific needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement scheduled routes for pickup and delivery of mail, documentation, parcels, program supplies or other items related to Rising Ground business; maintain on-time departures and arrivals for all routine scheduled pickups and make appropriate contact with administrative personnel or intended recipients if any delays are encountered
- Always exhibit professionalism and excellence in customer service
- Assist other Operations Team members with pickup and delivery needs, as they arise.
- Maintain logs and / or records of items picked up and delivered to ensure accountability and minimize loss of items
- Respond in a timely manner to emails, phone calls and as necessary, text messages to coordinate and confirm additional / special requests for pickups or deliveries.
- Collect or request delivery confirmation documentation in the form of signatures or pictures when picking up or dropping off items
- Plan and implement travel routes that prioritize both safety and efficiency of travel; stay aware of traffic patterns and / or events when scheduling ad-hoc routes, to minimize unnecessary delays
- Handle all mail, parcels, supplies or program supplies or materials with the utmost care, to minimize property damage or loss of business-critical correspondence or documentation
- Operate vehicle in safe, law-abiding manner and in accordance with Rising Ground driving policy; Maintain appropriate vehicle documentation and cleanliness.

Assist Facilities Department or MIS team in delivering supplies or equipment for routine needs or ongoing renovations or construction projectsPickup oversized or broken debris or furniture and transport to specified locations for carting, salvage or recyclingLight maintenance tasks or winter weather responsibilities, as neededAny other activity / task assigned by the Vice President of Real Estate and Infrastructure OperationsRequirements / Qualifications
High School DegreeA safe driving record as determined by Rising Ground, following review by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles Driver AbstractSupervisory Responsibility
