Due to continued growth in the San Jose and South Bay market, we are expanding our service team and seeking experienced Server/Bartenders with full bar knowledge who are also comfortable accepting serving shifts.
Position Summary
The Server/Bartender provides high quality food and beverage service at a wide range of events, including corporate banquets, weddings, galas, fundraisers, and private events. This is a flexible, on call position ideal for hospitality professionals who have strong bar skills, are service focused, and are willing to work both bartending and serving shifts depending on event needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional banquet service including tray passing, buffet assistance, table service, and event breakdown
• Bartend events with full bar service, including classic cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks as required
• Set up and break down bar stations, including stocking, ice, garnishes, and glassware
• Verify guest eligibility for alcohol service and follow responsible beverage service guidelines
• Follow event timelines and direction from onsite captains and leads
• Set up banquet tables, linens, glassware, and service stations as assigned
• Deliver a polished guest experience with strong attention to detail
• Carry and serve trays of plated meals or beverages safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and adapt to changing event needs
• Follow venue and company guidelines for safety, uniform standards, and sanitation
Qualifications
• Minimum 6 months of bartending and or banquet service, catering, or restaurant hospitality experience
• Full bar knowledge required, including cocktails, beer, wine, and basic bar setup
• Must be willing to accept both bartending and serving shifts based on event needs
• Ability to carry cocktail trays and perform banquet style service
• California RBS certification preferred for events involving alcohol service
• Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Reliable transportation to travel to event locations throughout the South Bay and San Jose area
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Weekend and evening availability required
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 10 hours per shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor event environments, including varying weather conditions
Work Environment
• Team based environment with direction from event captains and clients
• High energy events with varying pace
• Assignments issued through mobile scheduling; flexibility is essential
Compensation
• Hourly pay rates: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and event
• $21.00 per hour base pay
