About the Role

Picture your day : you start by reviewing the CMMS, prioritizing a mix of planned maintenance and urgent break-fix calls. You head to the line, observe a device in motion to isolate the root cause, then carefully disassemble it to reach a worn component. After inspecting parts for flaws, you adjust critical mechanisms and control instruments, replace what’s needed, reassemble, and test—verifying both mechanical and electrical performance. Before lunch, you collaborate with the Planner / Scheduler to tighten up preventive maintenance routines. Later, you make a quick part on the lathe, touch up a bracket with a welder, and finish by logging precise work histories and trend notes.

What You’ll Do

• Execute expert-level break / fix and preventive maintenance : diagnosing issues through observation, teardown, inspection, adjustment, repair / replacement, and rigorous testing of electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
• Recondition and repair machine tools when required.
• Identify and procure parts and supplies; evaluate alternatives to reduce cost and boost equipment reliability.
• Independently perform maintenance in line with industry standards.
• Partner with the Planner / Scheduler to refine and optimize PM procedures.
• Set up and run machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, and related metalworking tools) to fabricate or repair components; perform welding when needed.
• Champion 5S and high housekeeping standards.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, using CI tools and methodology to drive process enhancements and cost savings.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide technical leadership on project teams; serve as a subject-matter expert during training and development activities.
• Troubleshoot complex control systems, resolving advanced software, hardware, and configuration issues.
• Apply predictive maintenance technologies to collect performance data; analyze trends and recommend actions.
• Maintain and review CMMS records; analyze history to inform maintenance strategies.
• Engage in on-the-job training and self-study to further your technical growth.
• Follow all safety policies and technical guidelines; demonstrate situational awareness by identifying unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves extensive standing and walking; fine motor work with hands and fingers; reaching; climbing and balancing at heights using ladders or lifts; and regular stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces. You will communicate verbally and by hearing, with occasional periods of sitting. At times you may lift or move items over 50 pounds. Close and color vision are regularly required. Expect occasional exposure to outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock. Work occurs primarily in a loud factory setting, where hazardous materials and greasy or slippery floors may be present.
