R&D Engineer (Refrigeration)

Overview

R&D Engineer (Refrigeration) role at Watts Water Technologies. This position is in Fort Worth, TX and is in person. The role is part of the New Product Development team and reports to the R&D Integration Manager. Watts is a company focused on safe, clean water and innovative, sustainable water solutions.

Primary duties include development of new products through testing, third party certification, troubleshooting, and field support for new products.

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings to review setup or testing needs for products.
• Lead NPD development testing of refrigeration products, based on guidance from the integration team and R&D special projects.
• Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other documentation to set up equipment for testing.
• Build prototype heating products and perform testing; record results.
• Communicate with customers, representatives or service technicians via telephone concerning product and service issues.
• Calibrate and repair performance issues.
• Maintain certification and maintenance of equipment with third parties.
• Support in plant customer service, sales, tours, etc.
• Visit customers to provide on-site troubleshooting of product or service problems as needed.
• Assist Final Assembly area with problems occurring during assembly.
• Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the R&D Integration Manager or Company management.
• Engage in continuous improvement of a new and emerging field of research technology.
• Travel up to 25%.

Working Conditions

On-site at a manufacturing facility with most duties in an office environment. Occasional time on the manufacturing floor with required personal protective equipment. Office-based at the Fort Worth location (Monday – Friday). Work hours determined by the manager.
