Manages : Nursing Supervisors & Certified Home Health Aides
Your Role
Right at Home of Essex County is seeking an RN / BSN to add to our home care team as Director of Nursing. The Director of Nursing is responsible for working closely with our team of nursing supervisors to oversee all client care and ensure visits and contacts are being conducted as per CAHC and state guidelines.
The ideal candidate would have home care experience and / or experience working with the geriatric population. The ideal candidate would also be comfortable in a management and supervisory role as you will oversee our team of Certified Home Health Aides.
The Director of Nursing also works closely with the owners, Client Care Coordinator & Client Care Director to make decisions about staffing and client care.
Lastly, The Director of Nursing should feel comfortable interfacing with clients and family members on a regular basis.
This is a part-time salaried position with a commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The ideal candidate would be available Monday through Friday mornings with occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as requested.
Candidate would work from the Right at Home of Essex County office with frequent visits to client homes.
Requirements
Candidate must have a current New Jersey RN license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years of experience in home care OR clinical setting working with the elderly.
Computer and phone skills are necessary. Management experience preferred. Familiarity with Essex County is a plus.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following :
- Conducting new client assessments, ongoing observation, and reporting
- Supervising, training, and evaluation of field staff (new and existing employees)
- Supporting ongoing education efforts for CHHAs
- Conducting routine audits of clinical and personnel files to ensure compliance
- Maintaining ongoing relationships with clients and client family members
- Performing on-call duties as Registered Nurse
The Director of Nursing is also responsible for keeping our internal team updated on field activities and observations. We expect open lines of communication and frequent updates regarding client care.
Quality control is very important to us, and we ask that our Director of Nursing act as our eyes and ears in the field.
