About the Opportunity
We are searching for a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team and play a vital role in providing high-quality cancer care.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated oncology team to deliver precise radiation therapy treatments to patients.
You will ensure the safe and effective administration of radiation while providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Simulate treatment set-ups using advanced treatment planning systems
Perform dosimetric calculations to ensure accurate radiation dose delivery
Safely administer radiation therapy treatments using linear accelerators or other radiation therapy equipment
Position patients precisely for treatment using immobilization devices
Monitor patients for side effects and reactions during treatment
Maintain detailed treatment records and documentation
Educate patients about their treatment plan and potential side effects
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nurses to develop and implement treatment plans
Maintain a sterile treatment environment and adhere to strict safety protocols
Qualifications
Must be a Certified Radiation Therapist (ARRT-T) by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists
Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TMB) in Radiation Therapy
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist
Prior experience in a hospital or oncology setting is preferred
Strong understanding of radiation therapy principles and techniques
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm or 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm (flexible depending on department needs)
