Middle Office Technical Analyst Investment Operations (Wires Management)

Location : New York City, NY.

About the job

Advantra is partnering with a leading global investment management firm in New York City to hire a Middle Office Technical Analyst to strengthen technology and operational processes across investment operations, with a focus on wire management systems and cash movement workflows.

About the role

You will work with middle office and technology teams to design, implement, and maintain technology solutions supporting investment operations. The role focuses on wire management systems, payment processing, and automation of cash settlement workflows. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions, coordinate testing and deployment, and ensure systems perform securely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with middle office operations teams to define and document business and functional requirements.

Coordinate with internal developers and vendors to implement new features and enhancements.

Manage project plans, issue lists, and risk tracking across initiatives.

Develop and execute test cases to validate new functionality.

Analyze and optimize processes across wire management and settlement workflows.

Monitor system performance and address production issues with root cause analysis.

Support SLAs and metrics tracking for operational stability.

Maintain documentation for all systems and procedures.

Communicate regularly with stakeholders and support business adoption of new tools.

Core requirements

8+ years of experience across SDLC, including requirements, development, testing, and support.

3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, Python, SQL, and Excel Macros.

Proven experience with wire management systems; IVP Cash Master preferred.

Strong understanding of SWIFT message formats (MT1XX, MT2XX, MT9XX).

Experience managing SSI data, payment workflows, and straight-through processing.

Knowledge of credit instruments such as bank loans, bonds, and derivatives.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with business process understanding.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Nice to have

Prior experience in investment management or financial services.

Familiarity with middle office or controllers' technology platforms.

Experience integrating third-party vendor platforms with internal systems.

Exposure to automation, workflow tools, or BI reporting for operations.

Experience supporting production issues in trading or settlement systems.
