Jack In The Box - ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER
Position Summary : Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- Internal Service : Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees; monitors staffing levels; ensures training systems are implemented; identifies internal candidates for management; fosters a friendly, safe, and respectful restaurant environment; motivates employees to high performance; ensures compliance with labor laws and company procedures.
- External Service : Manages daily activities to deliver an exceptional guest experience; trains staff to maintain food quality, service, and cleanliness; addresses guest concerns promptly and professionally; upholds a positive brand image and serves as a role model for guest service.
- Higher Profits : Analyzes operational and financial performance, identifies trends, and develops action plans to improve sales and profitability; uses data to inform decisions; monitors costs and adherence to budgets and goals.
Qualifications
Education – High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience – Internal Promote : Minimum 1+ year as a Shift Leader or 1 year as Assistant Manager in customer service; external Recruit : Minimum 3 years as Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility; must be 100% certified in all workstations.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities – Must be at least 18; ServSafe certified; strong English reading / writing and interpersonal skills; basic math; analytical ability; strong organization and planning; self-starter; PC skills; valid driver's license and ability to travel as required; demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.Physical Requirements – Ability to stand / walk 85-95% of shift; lift 10-65 lbs; operate restaurant equipment and computer keyboard.Competencies
