Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown) Healthcare Setting : Neurosciences and Stroke Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 01 / 12 / 2026 – End : 04 / 13 / 2026) Nursing Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18 : 30 – 07 : 00), 36 hours / week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 Charting System : Cerner EMR Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,610 - $1,730 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, IMC, PCU, or telemetry nursing jobs At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment required Active DC RN license (pending status accepted with proof; must have license in hand prior to start) BLS certification required Preferred : ACLS, NIHSS, BSN Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) Experience with Cerner charting system Two supervisor references required Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 28-bed Neurosciences and Stroke IMC unit Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, arrhythmias, and dysrhythmias Perform phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and IV starts Manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, and wound vacs Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Care for patients with neurosurgery, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, diabetes, and other complex diagnoses Join our healthcare team in Washington, DC and take your nursing career to the next level with this rewarding travel RN job.
