Founding Engineer

A Chicago-based AI startup building next-gen tools for data integration and analysis used in mergers and acquisitions is looking for a Founding Engineer with expertise in Python, Node.js, React, Data Structures and Algorithms. This is a full-time, high impact role with the opportunity to shape product and platform from day-one.

The company embraces an energetic, and driven start-up culture where you will be working on Greenfield projects and data platforms. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades engineer that is looking for a hands-on and multi-faceted role where you will work closely with the start-up founders. The role is in-office five days a week in a collaborative space inside Ogilvie Station with complimentary breakfast, coffee, and drinks on tap.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of full stack software development experience
• Experience with CS fundamentals across the stack (Python, Node.js, React)
• Familiarity with data pipelines, and backend-heavy architectures
• Ability to organize information efficiently, collect and leverage data
• Strong communications and collaborative skills since you will be working with the founders

Desired Skills and Experience

Exposure with Scala, Spark, Cloud AI integrations

Prior work with early-stage startup or small engineering team.

Experience with data architecture and interest in AI / ML-driven products
