- Duties
- Conducts analytical studies based on examination of the programs needs.
- Conducts research, consolidates information, and identifies project status. Edits documents, briefing packages, program review documents, and presentation material.
- Ensures all documents are written in a style appropriate for its intended purpose.
- Provides expertise for the automation of work processes directed toward creating a paper-less environment (i.e., automation of documents, records, budget, reports, communications).
- Provides assistance in developing and modifying policies and procedures in internal operating procedures.

Qualifications
The position of Program Support Specialist falls within the 0301 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS 9, you must meet requirements by 11 : 59 pm EST on 02 / 16 / 2022.
Time-in-Grade : Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service).
Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have completed 52 weeks at the GS-07 grade level or higher in Federal service or Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) at the GS-07 grade level to meet time-in-grade for GS-09.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-09 : Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes : planning, organizing, recording data, researching sensitive issues, analyzing, and presenting results, and recommending administrative strategies or changes.
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.
B. or J.D., if related;
Combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level;
then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages.
The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at this grade.
In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description.
Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment.
The must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed.
