The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting products to customers while representing the company in a professional manner. This role is focused on driving company box trucks to complete deliveries, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining compliance with DOT rules and regulations. The Delivery Driver may occasionally assist with loading and unloading products and some general warehouse duties as and when required.
Position Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company box trucks to transport products to customers.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes as provided by the reporting manager.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper working condition.
- Comply with all DOT rules, regulations, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
- Load, secure, and unload products as needed, ensuring all items are delivered in good condition.
- Accurately complete and maintain delivery paperwork and logs.
- Communicate daily delivery status updates to the Warehouse Manager and Director of Operations.
- Immediately report any vehicle damage, accidents, or issues to the Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at each delivery stop.
- Willing and able to work Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed, based on DOT HOS limits.
Requirements
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (must provide and sign a release to permit license check).
- Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or obtain one prior to employment.
- Minimum 12 years of experience driving box trucks or other commercial vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform occasional physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all DOT rules, regulations, and HOS compliance.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete delivery records.
- Proven track record of consistency, reliability, and follow-through.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
