• Location : Newport News, VA 23602 (Virginia nursing jobs)\n
• Assignment Type : Travel nursing contract\n
• Unit : Telemetry (3 North, 28 beds)\n
• Shift : 12-hour nights (every other weekend and holiday required)\n
• Hours per Week : 36\n
• Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025, End : 1 / 17 / 2026)\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780–$1910 per week\n
• Support : Monitor tech, charge nurse every shift, 24 / 7 nursing supervisor, medic for IVs / midline placements\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia Registered Nurse jobs)\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience\n
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience\n
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required prior to direct patient care)\n
• Successful completion of Dysrhythmia exam at orientation\n
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled\n
• Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills\n\nTelemetry Nurse Responsibilities\n
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and implement individualized care plans\n
• Administer medications and manage drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Insulin)\n
• Monitor and care for patients with TCDs, PICCs, midlines, CBI, chest tubes\n
• Provide oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, high-flow, trach) and advanced respiratory support\n
• Care for patients with cardiac and metabolic conditions : A-fib, NSTEMI / STEMI, CHF, CVA / TIA, chest pain, post-cardiac cath, dialysis, AKI\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and coordinate patient care\n
• Maintain compliance with safety and infection control protocols; participate in quality improvement\n
