We are a growing family law and estate planning firm in need of a reliable and self-
motivated paralegal. The individual will work directly with our attorneys, performing a
variety of complex legal and administrative support duties. The ideal candidate for this
position is organized, professional, responsible, capable of working with limited
supervision and committed to helping us meet all our clients’ needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Maintains and organizes client files
- Drafts, prepares, reviews, and edits appropriate legal documents and
correspondence
Files documents with the courtsManages attorney caseloads, including scheduling, prioritizing, and casemanagement
Participates in coordinating discovery, including drafting, responding andcalendaring of discovery documents
Researches and analyzes legal sources such as statutes and case lawAssists in trial preparationReviews mail and screens calls for attorneysAnswers telephone calls and greets clients as neededMINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS
Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (a paralegal certificate and two additional years of experience may be substituted)EXPERIENCE
Two years of full-time experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal in family lawKnowledge of general office practicesSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesDemonstrated skill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingProficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, ProDoc, and E-filing.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Paralegal certificationCompensation : Starting at $28 / hr
