Thoracic Surgeon (Charlotte, NC)

Novant Health Cancer Institute is seeking a Full-time board-eligible/board-certified Thoracic Surgeon to join their team in Charlotte, NC. Candidates should be fellowship trained in Thoracic Surgery, with a focus in minimally invasive and robotic procedures. Opportunity Highlights:

• Established Integrated Network Cancer Program located in the vibrant and growing city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
• The Thoracic Oncology Program includes a comprehensive lung cancer screening program, established lung nodule clinic with a dedicated pulmonologist and APP supporting the clinic and the thoracic surgical team, and coordinated multidisciplinary care including thoracic surgery, medical oncology, and radiation oncology.
• The thoracic surgery service is supported by one thoracic surgeon and two dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), providing strong clinical and procedural support across both the clinic and operating room.
• Our comprehensive cancer program promotes disease sub-specialization and collaborative, multidisciplinary team-based care focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
• The role offers the opportunity to participate in clinical research.
• Teaching opportunities available through our clinical affiliation with UNC-Chapel Hill, working with UNC medical students
• Engage in a weekly multi-disciplinary cancer conference to support patient-centered care
• Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support available in both the clinic and operating room
• Shared call responsibilities with the cardiothoracic surgery team, supported by 4 physicians and 8 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), with a call rotation of approximately every 3-4 days and weekends.
• The Charlotte Region is a division of Novant Health Cancer Institute. The institute includes over 100 specialists in 30+ locations across the state of NC.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Thoracic Surgery
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an attending thoracic surgeon with demonstrated clinical expertise in thoracic oncology and complex thoracic procedures.
• Required experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including robotic-assisted and VATS approaches.
• Strong commitment to multidisciplinary cancer care, collaborating closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonology, and other specialties.
• Demonstrated dedication to high-quality, patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

• Two-year salary guarantee
