Job descriptionWork in a telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes post-cardiac, chest pain, post-cath, NSTEMI, pacers, and oncology cases Typical patient ratio is 1 : 5 for both day and night shifts Both 2nd and 6th floors have private and semi-private rooms with similar telemetry acuity Utilizes EpicCare Inpatient EMR and Phillips Cardiac Monitors 3 12-hour night shifts per week, 7 : 00 p.m. – 7 : 30 a.m. Every other weekend required—typically Friday / Saturday for night shifts Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs Rare floating may occur to ICU overflow or Ortho / MedSurg units Read, document, and interpret cardiac rhythm strips every 4 hours Manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin, and Nitro as per protocol Bipap, Cpap, and high-flow oxygen therapies are managed by respiratory therapists present 24 / 7 Opportunity for precepting, charge nurse responsibilities, and potential overtime Navy blue scrubs with navy or white jacket; hair must be a natural color and visible tattoos must be covered Short orientation based on experience will be provided No IV team, RT and pharmacy support available 24 / 7 Block scheduling may be possible if agreed upon in contract Active WV or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of acute care telemetry nursing experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required Experience with Epic EMR preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Candidates who were previously employed by WVU institutions must have a 2-year break before reapplying Returning travelers who have worked at WVU for one full year must take a 2-year break before returning Must successfully complete EKG testing if applicable First-time travelers will be considered High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
