We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance and automotive repair, specifically with diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various types of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
We operate a combination of X12 Cummins engines and DD 13 Detroit's, Our fleet is newer unit motorcoaches. All with Disc Brakes.
- Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they become major repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
- Assemble and disassemble engine components as needed for repairs or replacements.
- Provide tire service, including mounting, balancing, and rotating tires.
- Repair or replace shocks, struts, and other suspension components to ensure vehicle stability and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Requirements
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, particularly with diesel engines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Familiarity with dealership standards for automotive repair is a plus.
- Experience working with cranes or heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to transmit technical information clearly to team members and clients.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are preferred.
