Learning Experience Design (LXD) Specialist

Overview

Westcliff University is seeking a Learning Experience Design (LXD) Specialist. The part-time, remote position focuses on leading curriculum development, instructional design, and collaboration with subject experts and academic leaders to develop courses and learning resources.

The role supports the development of courses and learning resources. The position offers a flexible arrangement with remote work, primarily asynchronous hours, and weekly Zoom meetings. Submission of an instructional design portfolio is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the learning experience design process and course development team in developing learner-centric materials and experiences.
• Collaborate with academic leaders, educators, subject experts, and professionals to assist in the development of curricula and learning resources.
• Transform course vision into engaging instructional strategies and resources.
• Design and develop instructional content, including refinement of learning objectives, sequencing of materials, creation of assessments, and activity design.
• Apply instructional design principles, eLearning concepts, adult learning theory, and game-based learning to curriculum designs to provide CAPRI (Contextualized, Applied, Practical, Relative, and Inclusive) learning experiences.
• Build engaging, learner-centric courses in the learning management system.
• Set achievable timelines for curriculum objectives with the course development team and meet development milestones for course launches.
• Develop digital resources to enhance classroom learning.
• Assist in preparing supplementary guides for teachers and students.
• Utilize feedback from students, faculty, and academic leaders and performance data for curriculum refinement and documenting necessary changes to curricula.
• Assist in setting up surveys, exams, and assessments to gauge curriculum effectiveness.
• Stay current with designated program portfolios and trends in instructional design, learning sciences, and educational technology.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required.
