Engineering Student Services Coordinator
Description of Work
Serving as an engaged member of Engineering Student Services (ESS), this position is responsible for awarding and maintaining college scholarships for incoming College of Engineering freshman, transfer students, and returning students in coordination with UNL and UNO offices of scholarships and financial aid.
The position has a heavy focus on management of the endowed scholarship program (foundation scholarships) which requires review and compliance with specific fund agreement criteria to adhere to meet specific donor goals.
This position will be based on UNL city campus and will be expected to work effectively across two universities to coordinate and facilitate UNL and UNO scholarship and financial aid information and policies for Engineering students.
This person will be familiar with differing institutional scholarship awarding structures in addition to donors’ goals and the nuances of multiple different systems within each institution.
This position will work with students, faculty, staff, and NU Foundation representatives to award scholarships in a timely manner.
They will collaborate with the Dean, Department Chairs, and other academic leaders to identify avenues to leverage scholarship funds.
The position also coordinates and oversees day-to-day operations for ESS through the hiring and management of ESS front desk student staff and providing support to ESS and COE operations.
This position will also assist with a variety of Engineering Student Services activities and functions.
Evening and / or weekend hours may be required during events.
