Job Summary :
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the organization to patients, delivering quality service and expert specimen collection. This position performs skilled phlebotomy and specimen processing duties in a clinical setting, creating a positive and professional patient experience. The PSR II ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to established standards while fostering a welcoming and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection activities accurately and on schedule under the supervision of the area lead.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Conduct both forensic and clinical specimen collections following established procedures.
Verify patient demographics, obtain required signatures, and ensure all specimens are correctly labeled in the patients presence.
Maintain required documentation, records, and chain-of-custody procedures.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public by demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy in all interactions.
Follow organizational policies, dress code, and health and safety regulations.
Remain flexible to support multiple locations, cover additional shifts, and meet operational needs as required.
Required Experience :
13 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
2 years of experience in a patient service center or clinical environment preferred.
Previous customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or related environments strongly preferred.
Data entry and keyboarding proficiency required.
Education & Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
