As a Field Service Engineer – Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) , you'll be a key player in our High Voltage Services team, leading the installation, commissioning, and servicing of GIS systems across North America. This role places you at the center of high-impact projects, working with voltages from 69kV to 800kV. You'll represent Hitachi Energy on-site, collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and customers to bring complex systems online safely and effectively. Whether you're inspecting installations, leading crews, or solving technical challenges, your work will directly support the modernization and resilience of the power grid. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus contingent upon : (1) successful completion of hiring process, (2) completion of onboarding requirements, and (3) execution of sign-on bonus agreement with terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical field assignments and make critical decisions
• Direct the work of field teams and subcontractors
• Manage productivity to ensure timely project completion
• Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Promote safe practices and meet health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Supervise the installation and commissioning of high-voltage GIS substations
• Conduct frequent inspections and document pertinent information
• Plan, schedule, and lead on-site weekly progress meetings
• Perform and document field testing on equipment
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Salary Transparency Statement - New York Candidates

Total Base Pay Range (New York) : $81,200 - $121,800 annually

This compensation range applies specifically to candidates who will be working in New York State. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
