Position :
- Collections Paralegal Location : Toms River, New Jersey Salary : $65,000 – 85,000 plus commission Schedule : 10 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM, M-F Job Summary : We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Collections Paralegal to join our legal team.
- The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of collection laws and procedures, as well as experience working in a fast-paced legal environment.
- The Collections Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing the legal collection process, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and maintaining accurate records for clients.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of collection lawsuits, motions, and other legal documents.Communicate with clients, debtors, and opposing counsel to facilitate the collection process.Conduct legal research on collection laws, procedures, and case precedents.Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and other collection-related correspondence.Review and analyze financial records and documents to identify assets for collection.Prepare and organize case files, evidence, and exhibits for hearings, depositions, and trials.Assist in the preparation of responses to discovery requests and other legal inquiries.Track and manage deadlines, ensuring compliance with court rules and filing requirements.Coordinate with collection agencies and credit reporting agencies as needed.Maintain case files, ensuring all information is up to date and accurate in the case management system.Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling and document management.Monitor the progress of ongoing cases and provide updates to attorneys and clients.Qualifications :
Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, or a Bachelor’s degree with a Paralegal Certification.At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in collections or creditor rights law.Strong understanding of collections laws, regulations, and procedures.Proficient in legal research, drafting legal documents, and case management.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.Preferred Qualifications :
