Description
The Floating Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time, Head Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced team. The successful candidate must be bilingual;
fluent in English and Spanish, in order to successfully communicate with the purpose of providing quality medical care to all patients, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, who seek out services.
Under the supervision of the Clinic Flow Manager, the Head Medical Assistant is responsible for the tasks below :
- Daily on-site floor supervision of MAs, of MA responsibilities including Triage, Labs and exiting patients.
- Provide on-the spot trouble shooting with MA's, providers, patients, and administrative staff when Clinic Flow Manager is not present.
- Assist in the coordination of patient flow and care with Medical, Dental, and Mental Health Providers.
- Assist in coordination of patient flow with Benefit Counselors, Outreach Management and the Transportation Dispatcher.
- Supervise patient inquiries, and the completion of patient forms, shelter health screening forms and other work or school forms.
- Liaise with patients regarding questions related to forms and follow-up needs.
- Order and maintain supplies relevant to the medical clinic.
- Ensure that examination rooms are properly set up, cleaned, and stocked with requisite materials for clinical exams.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Education : Possess a current New York State Medical Assistant certification, appropriate certification in first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Experience :
- Three to five years' supervisory experience desired.
- Experience with all ages of the life span.
- Experience with EMR (AthenaHealth preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement.
