Position at Andover Animal Hospital Experienced Veterinary Technician (Unlicensed – Still Awesome)Location: Andover Animal Hospital | Andover, MAPay range: $18-24 (depending on experience)Have 2+ years of veterinary tech experience but not officially licensed? If you’ve ever placed a catheter with one hand while calming down a nervous chihuahua with the other (and answering the phone with your elbow), you’re our kind of people.Who we are:
is a full-service, 10-doctor, AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Andover, MA. We care for dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets, and exotics (yes, really — lizards, snakes, rabbits, and the occasional sugar glider who thinks it’s a flying squirrel on Red Bull). If you like a little unpredictability in your patient roster and don’t flinch at feathers or scales, you’ll fit right in.What you’ll actually be doing:
You’ll be a true tech — not just a glorified restrainer or treat dispenser. We believe in letting skilled team members use their skills. You'll work alongside our doctors to provide compassionate care to a whole zoo of species and be empowered to take the lead on things like:
  • Diagnostic sample collection
  • Venipuncture & IV catheter placement (bonus if you don’t need to tape your own fingers together)
  • Radiology (including exotic critters with very strong opinions about staying still)
  • Anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • Pain management and patient comfort
  • Dental radiographs, cleanings, and possibly identifying what that dog just ate
  • General exotic-wrangling finesse and MacGyver-level problem solving
Who you are:
  • You’ve got 2+ years of experience in a veterinary setting
  • You’re not licensed, but you’ve got the knowledge, instincts, and hustle of someone who is
  • You’re cool under pressure and can handle a minor chaos spiral without sacrificing your snack stash
  • You’re adaptable, collaborative, and you laugh at least once per shift
  • You care about patients, clients, your team, and maybe naming every orange cat “Cheddar”
