The Data Auditor plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and compliance of organizational data across multiple platforms and business processes. This position is responsible for proactively auditing data flows, monitoring time-sensitive processes, detecting inconsistencies, and collaborating with teams to remediate issues before they impact operations. The auditor must possess advanced SQL skills, including stored procedure development, and be able to navigate large datasets in Snowflake to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement. This role requires maintaining strict, detailed logs of all audits and documenting processes and solutions for accountability and continuous improvement. Working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, the Data Auditor will partner closely with IT, data management, and operational teams to uphold the highest standards of data quality, timeliness, and compliance. The role demands strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive mindset, and a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Data Auditing & Analysis
- Identify inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and potential data quality risks.
- Develop and execute comprehensive data auditing plans.
- Validate data transformations, stored procedures, and system outputs against source records.
- Audit data ingestion processes to ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Audit all operational workflows and implement controls to safeguard process integrity.
- Monitor other critical processes where timeliness is essential, ensuring deadlines and SLAs are consistently met.
- Document all audit activities, findings, and resolutions, maintaining strict, detailed logs of audits for compliance and historical reference.
Collaboration & Remediation
Work closely with IT, database engineers, and operational teams to address identified issues.Partner with stakeholders to implement corrective actions and preventive controls.Communicate audit results in clear, business-friendly language to non-technical audiences.Reporting & Visualization
Create and maintain dashboards in Power BI and / or Grafana to track audit results and KPIs.Deliver regular reports to leadership summarizing audit outcomes, trends, and improvement initiatives.Process Improvement
Recommend enhancements to data collection, storage, and processing workflows.Identify automation opportunities to improve data validation and error detection.Contribute to standardizing audit processes and best practices across the organization.Qualifications
6-8 years of experience in data auditing, data analysis, or database quality assurance.Advanced SQL skills, including stored procedure creation and optimization.Strong experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses.Familiarity with Power BI and Grafana preferred.Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance regulations (HIPAA, GDPR).Proven ability to work quickly, independently, and accurately in a fast-paced environment.Strong sense of ownership and proactive problem-solving skills.Understanding the end-to-end business processes in a data-driven organization.Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
