Job Summary
The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the construction and coordination of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met; and serving as the owner's representative throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
Lead and manage construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.
Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Utility and System Coordination
Coordinate municipal utility connections, including water, sewer, gas, and electrical services.
Oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins, ensuring all systems integrate smoothly with the overall building design.
On-Site Management
Maintain on-site presence four days per week to monitor work progress, resolve issues, and verify adherence to project plans.
Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
Change Order Management
Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on change orders.
Ensure all modifications are justified, cost-effective, and align with project goals.
Owner's Representative Duties
Act as the primary liaison between ownership and project teams to ensure alignment with project vision and objectives.
Review project plans, specifications, and contractor performance.
Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication.
Address on-site challenges promptly and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or project management.
Strong understanding of construction processes, mechanical systems, building codes, and industry standards.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with close attention to detail.
