About the Role

Birch Island Vet is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our medical team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality, hands-on care to our patients while supporting veterinarians and ensuring efficient clinical operations. Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures

Administer medications, vaccines, and other prescribed treatments

Collect and process lab samples with precision and care

Provide clear, compassionate client education on treatment plans and home care

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Perform dental cleanings and assist with routine and advanced procedures

Monitor post-surgical patients and deliver post-operative care

Handle and restrain animals safely and respectfully during procedures

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Veterinary Technician

Strong knowledge of animal care, behavior, and clinical procedures

Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude

Proficient with practice management software and digital medical records

• Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technicians strongly preferred
