Senior Quality Engineer

Overview

Senior Quality Engineer full-time, Miramar, FL location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and project planning for multiple NPI projects and continuous improvement activities, meetings and teams.

Essential Functions

• Serves in a technical leadership capacity for multiple products in development / NPI projects and conducts APQP activities as needed
• Organizes and leads continuous improvement activities, meetings, and teams
• Monitors performance and conducts audits (supplier, product and / or processes)
• Ensures timely resolution of supplier failures, corrective and preventive actions
• Creates, updates and maintain quality system documentation
• Represents the quality department in ECO approval process and serves as a member of the Material Review Board and / or Supplier Review Board
• Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system
• Conducts conformity inspections to support the ODA and customers
• Makes substantial contributions toward determination of project goal / objective feasibility
• Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced Quality Engineers (1 & 2)
• Contributes to advanced technical research on new processes and technologies
• Independently determines general approach and specific solutions to technical problems and works proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
• Demonstrates good judgment in setting schedules / risk taking
• Offers many suggestions to improves processes and authors new procedures as appropriate
• Provides reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem-solving techniques
• Exemplifies Garmins Mission Statement and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmins image and culture
• Cleanliness zone area requirements : This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear), safety shoes and / or eyeglasses to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards
• Conducts designed experiments as needed
