Description : Job Title : Foreman
Reports to : General Superintendent
FLSA Status : Exempt
Summary of Responsibilities :
The Foreman will be responsible for directly supervising and leading specialized labor crews that perform the necessary work for their assigned project(s). This position is also responsible for the consistent and proactive management of employees, equipment, safety, quality control, scheduling, planning, production, and cost control throughout the entire project lifecycle, from start-up to completion / closeout.

The Take Charge FOREMAN :
Do work right the first time - QUALITY
- Performs quality control duties, creates punch lists, makes timely corrections to the work, and holds team members accountable for doing the job correctly the first time and in compliance with all contract terms and conditions
- Ensures that all materials used are per approved submittals and other project documents
- Coordinates and schedules all required inspections and testing with appropriate parties
- Maintains an organized and up-to-date set of all project documents (specifications, contract(s), drawings, revisions, submittals, RFI’s, etc.); Communicates with the project team regarding project documentation
- Maintains daily logs and records / as-built drawings of all activities on the jobsite
- Identifies, documents, and enforces subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, and on-time completion
Proactively schedules project(s) and plans work items to ensure ON-TIME completion
Thoroughly understands the contracted scope of workAttends and conducts pre-construction, progress, scheduling, and project / staff meetingsSupervises crew and labor force to ensure the successful completion of all assigned dutiesEnsures that projects are adequately staffed for on-time completionManages job progress, schedules, and punch list items to achieve on-time or early project completionIdentifies conflicts / issues within construction documents and progress, and communicates them to the project team for timely resolutionMake a budget if not GAIN on each project - PRODUCTION
Achieves profit goals set for work items, specifically outperforming labor and equipment production and budgetsAttends and conducts weekly GAMEPLAN meeting, along with preparation and / or insight into GAMEPLAN scheduleCoordinates, communicates, and proactively engages with project management; reviewing work plans, progress, production, reports, etc., to identify issues and opportunitiesCommunicates the status of project profitability, costs, quantities, and gain / fade with the project teamProactively evaluates project / work item means, methods, and productions and makes timely adjustments for bettermentComplies with all SAFETY requirements, including Durr, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards
Thoroughly understands all safety requirements and always holds themselves and all team members accountable for the adherence and enforcement of safetyConducts weekly safety meetings onsite with the entire project team, daily huddles, and daily task hazard analysisProvides training, education, advice, and mentoring to other team members
Actively engaged and present on all assigned projects to monitor all activities and assist in future planningConsistently and accurately evaluates crew and team members, gives praise, and ensures all are adequately held responsible and accountableMonitors and enforces all company policies as necessaryThe DURR Way : Be Proactive

Understanding of heavy construction, including but not limited to demolition, earthwork, utilities, and concrete paving, and associated heavy equipment used during the execution of workFamiliarity with requirements and interpretation of drawings, specifications, purchase orders, submittals, and other construction-related documentationHave an understanding of quantity take-offs, production rates, crew types / sizes, etc.Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong management and leadership skills to hold others responsible and accountableExhibits strong leadership qualitiesDelegates work appropriately and follow through to verify completion of tasksStrong and proactive decision-making and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsEndurance and ability to visit the entire job site(s), including stairs or other elevated structuresEducation and / or Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Construction Industry, heavy construction preferred, with a demonstrated understanding of construction methods and work site management.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

This role operates in a business office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is not regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
