Job Summary : As an Electrophysiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in electrophysiology procedures, ensuring seamless operations before, during, and after each procedure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the setup and management of all electrophysiology lab equipment, effectively troubleshooting any technical issues.
- Assist physicians with instrumentation, pacing, and data recording during procedures, ensuring accurate recording and storage of patient data.
- Perform device interrogations for inpatients and post-operative assessments.
- Act as a liaison between patients and physicians, coordinating outpatient visits and necessary clinical preparations.
- Support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in an invasive procedure setting, specializing in EP studies, device implantation, and ablations.
- Educate patients about procedural expectations to enhance their understanding and comfort.
- Mentor new staff members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Maintain a safe and compliant workspace, adhering to current regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in professional development to uphold clinical knowledge and technical skills.
- Contribute positively to a team-centered culture that aligns with the organization's mission.
- Safeguard the integrity of IV fluids, ensuring their proper handling and security.
Qualifications :
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
Licensed Radiology Technician from the Connecticut Department of Public Health (required prior to hire).Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required prior to hire).One or more of the following certifications : Certified Heart Saver AED from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required prior to hire).Education :
High School Diploma or GED.Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology or Cardiac Electrophysiology program (required).A minimum of two years of related experience.Preferred : Competency in Advanced ECG interpretation, along with EP mapping and ablation systems.At Hartford HealthCare, we prioritize your career development and growth.
