Job Description

Position Summary :

Has functional authority for the practical application of the CAD design and simulation of tools.

Coordinates and leads the drawing, modeling and simulation of dies and tools and process planning for the manufacture of forgings and extrusions by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

• Is responsible for the drawing, modeling and simulation support required for the creation of dies, tools and production planning documentation
• Is responsible for maintaining documentation and filing systems related to the models, drawings and simulation data per the Shultz Steel Work Instructions
• Ensures that the models, drawings and simulation created by the Manufacturing Engineer are complete and error free
• Creates forging drawings and 3D models from customer drawings and models using CAD tools
• Creates drawings using 3D models necessary for the manufacture of the dies and forging tools using the CAD tools
• Participates in the estimation process
• Performs area, volume and weight calculation
• Sets up and runs simulations to test forging process concepts using simulation software
• Creates detailed operation sequence and Standard Work documentation necessary for the production process
• Creates drawings, sketches, templates, and other documents and devices to aid in the production process
• Has extensive knowledge of the concepts and standards used in part and process design with attention to potential lack of fill, defect formation, mismatch and die failure
• Has general knowledge of the techniques, hardware and software used to inspect forgings and dies
• Performs simple inspection procedures to dimensionally check dies and forgings

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $106,000 to $156,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
