Political Canvasser North Shore Strategies – Roanoke and Montgomery County, VA Compensation :

• $20 per hour Hours per Shift : 4 Start Date / End Date : 10 / 06 / 2025 – 11 / 04 / 2025 Classification : Temporary, Non-Exempt Reports To : Field Director North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and professional Political Canvassers to support our grassroots field efforts across Roanoke and Montgomery County, VA.
• The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is passionate about civic engagement and committed to promoting Democratic causes.
• Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our campaign operations, having direct conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support for candidates and initiatives.
• About the Role As a Political Canvasser, you will play a critical role in the democratic process by engaging voters through face-to-face interactions.
• You will be responsible for delivering key campaign messages, collecting petition signatures when needed, and helping to build lasting support for Democratic candidates and progressive issues.
• Primary Responsibilities Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing.
• Deliver persuasive and accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives to educate and motivate voters.
• Record daily data and submit detailed reports to the Field Director.
• Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals.
• Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity in all public interactions.
• Attend required trainings and team meetings to stay aligned with campaign strategy and talking points.
• Foster positive connections with voters to promote long-term community trust and campaign visibility.
• Qualifications Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
• Access to a valid driver's license and a car.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a comfort level with engaging strangers.
• Reliable, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing is a plus but not required.
• Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and achieving performance targets.
