Senior Accountant, Insurance

Essential Functions :
- Lead month-end tasks and identify and prepare journal entries for assigned area.
- Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure financial statements are accurate.
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles.
- Provide guidance to the field on accounting matters.
- Identify, explain, and communicate variances and the drivers behind them.
- Perform trend and account analysis, reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare journal entries, and prepare PBC schedules.
- Assist with external and SOX audits.
- Provide exceptional customer services to internal customers.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Ability to effectively work with different management levels and personalities.
- Skills in relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and a continuous improvement mind-set.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment.
- Ability to prioritize projects and execute and deliver key objectives in a timely manner under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail, self-motivated, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
