Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in autism spectrum disorder evaluation and diagnosis. The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments for children and adolescents, preparing clear diagnostic reports, and working closely with families, schools, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
This position is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented clinician who values collaboration, evidence-based practice, and making a lasting impact in the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychological evaluations, including clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and standardized assessments.
Administer, score, and interpret ADOS-2, ADI-R, cognitive, adaptive, and socio-emotional assessments .
Prepare strengths-based diagnostic reports with individualized recommendations for interventions, supports, and services.
Collaborate with families, schools, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and connect families to resources.
Stay current with research and best practices in developmental psychology, autism, and related fields.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program .
Active New York State Clinical Psychologist license .
Demonstrated experience in autism evaluation and diagnosis.
Proficiency with gold-standard tools (ADOS-2, ADI-R).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex findings clearly to families and professionals.
Commitment to culturally responsive, family-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of Long Island's school systems, community resources, and therapeutic services .
Bilingual proficiency (Spanish strongly preferred).
Interest in supervision, consultation, or research activities.
