TekSystems is currently hiring for a few medical billers in the Virginia Beach area! These positions are HYBRID!

MUST HAVE : Any medical AR follow up billing experience! Experience with excel! Ability to start quickly!

Description

Sentara has two roles within the billing team right now

1. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Biller for a short-term assignment lasting approximately 3–4 months. This role involves managing invoice processing and related administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Print and organize invoices from the billing system.

Generate and prepare 550 tax forms.

Sort, group, and package invoices for mailing or delivery to the commercial team.

Ensure proper documentation and batch entry management.

Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout all billing processes.

Directly supporting Individual Plan, Group Plans, and a limited number of government programs

Currently working in CSC is their main system - but switching to Whipro & QNext

2.. We are seeking a Billing Analyst with strong analytical and Excel skills to join our billing team. This role goes beyond traditional data entry and involves managing complex billing processes for individual plans, group plans, and a limited number of governmental programs. A background in billing and familiarity with health insurance is highly preferred. - This one is contract to hire

Key Responsibilities :

Handle billing for individual and group health plans, including retroactive adjustments and credits.

Manage unique billing scenarios such as employee turnover and retro billing processes.

Export large volumes of data from the CSC system (green screen) into Excel for analysis and reporting.

Utilize advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) to create and maintain spreadsheets.

Prepare and organize invoices for mailing or delivery to internal teams.

Support transition to new systems (Whipro and QNEXT) scheduled for next year.

Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and timely completion of billing tasks.

Volume - light day - processing 300 invoices - higher volume day- 1,000+

In their Open Enrollment period right now, they could get 70,000 to 100,000 new members

Form 5500 is an annual report that certain employers must file with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide information about their employee benefit plans. This is a document that they provide to companies to prove they have health insurance for their employees for a period of time

What Is Form 5500?

It’s used to report financial, investment, and operational details of employee benefit plans, including :

Retirement plans (e.g., 401(k), pension)

Health and welfare plans (e.g., medical, dental, life insurance)

Required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

For the temporary role -

Experience : 1–2 years of Excel proficiency and general computer skills.

Ability to navigate billing systems and perform batch printing.

Strong organizational skills for sorting and grouping invoices.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

For the permanent role -

Experience : Strong billing background; health insurance experience highly desirable.

Technical Skills :

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).

Ability to create spreadsheets and perform data analysis, not just data entry.

Familiarity with billing systems and willingness to learn new platforms.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage high-volume billing cycles (light days : ~300 invoices; peak periods : 1,000+ invoices).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / hr.
