Position : Interim Controller | SaaS & Cloud Accounting

Duration : 6–12 Month Assignment
About the Company
Our client is a global SaaS and cloud-based education company—an industry leader providing online certification and training programs to finance and accounting professionals worldwide.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a high-impact mandate : drive operational excellence, strengthen accounting controls, and modernize financial systems for a fast-growing, tech-enabled business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all controllership functions across GL, AP, AR, payroll, and audit for a global SaaS organization.
Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition and ensure compliance across B2B and B2C streams.
Implement and maintain ASC 350-40 capitalization processes for software and content development.
Manage ERP and system integrations — NetSuite, Maxio, Salesforce — ensuring accurate, real-time reporting.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to streamline financial workflows.
Develop and enforce accounting policies for T&E, corporate cards, and AP; optimize spend management with RAMP .
Modernize and accelerate the close process using FloQast and automation tools.
Lead annual audits, ensuring strong internal controls and unqualified opinions.
Supervise and mentor a small team (Sr. GL Accountant, Billing Manager, Payroll Specialist).
Support the CFO through post-transaction integration, system consolidation, and reporting enhancements.
Qualifications
Must-Haves : CPA required
Deep SaaS accounting experience
Preferred :
Public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier firm)
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles within high-growth SaaS or cloud-based organizations.
Expert understanding of U.S. GAAP , ASC 606 , and ASC 350-40 .
Strong systems background — NetSuite, Maxio, Salesforce, FloQast, RAMP, etc.
Proven ability to manage distributed teams and work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills; thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Compensation
Pay Rate : Up to $85 / hour
Schedule : Full-time, remote (40 hours / week) - Must be PST OR MST based.
