Position Title : Field Technician - Air Traffic Control Modernization

Pay Rate : $40,000 - $120,000 (Based on experience)
Position Description
We are hiring multiple Field Technicians to support the modernization and nationwide deployment of the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) . In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for installing, upgrading, and decommissioning telecommunications and infrastructure systems at FAA facilities across the U.S.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in telecommunications, field service, or light construction, and are eager to travel extensively while contributing to the future of aviation safety and infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to support a mission-critical program impacting airports nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and remove network telecommunications equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and related devices at FAA sites across the country
- Perform site preparation work , including low-voltage electrical installation (up to 120V), light construction, and trenching using hand tools and compact equipment (e.g., mini-excavators, skid steers)
- Conduct technical site surveys , document findings, and assist in developing detailed installation plans
- Support voice-grade, digital, and IP-based telecommunications system cutovers
- Climb towers (as needed) to install, align, or remove antennas and waveguide
- Maintain as-built documentation for all installations, repairs, and upgrades
- Adhere to FAA safety standards and ensure compliance with government telecom regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of experience in telecommunications, field service, infrastructure installation, or light constructionProficiency in low-voltage electrical installation , trenching, and site prep workAbility to work around critical operational equipment in live environmentsStrong understanding of telecom / networking infrastructure and field deployment best practicesPhysically capable of climbing towers , lifting 50+ lbs, and working in varied terrain and weatherWillingness to travel extensively nationwide , often for extended periodsClean driving recordStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in teamsPreferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting FAA or federal telecommunications installationsKnowledge of FAA systems, safety regulations , and remote site protocolsFamiliarity with microwave, LTE, VSAT, VoIP , or similar wireless technologiesCertifications in tower climbing safety , fiber optics , or network systemsJourneyman electrician license or equivalent credentialsAbout Seneca Resources
