About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP, Modeling Actuary to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and maintenance of actuarial models, with a focus on newly acquired institutional blocks. This role is pivotal in supporting GAAP and statutory reporting across U.S. and Bermuda jurisdictions, as well as in cash-flow testing and assumption management. The AVP, Modeling Actuary will work closely with cross-functional teams, develop model validation tools, and ensure that all activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Key tasks include building robust actuarial models for complex liability structures, conducting scenario analyses, and collaborating with valuation teams to provide timely model outputs for financial reporting.
Applicants for the AVP, Modeling Actuary position at the company should be Fellows of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associates (ASA) with a minimum of 10 years' experience in life and annuity insurance. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and strong technical and analytical skills are essential. Proficiency in programming, particularly in Python and SQL, is a plus, as is proven expertise in actuarial projection software. Hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP valuation is preferred, and familiarity with Bermuda frameworks is advantageous. The role demands a high level of expertise and the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
