Vice President For Administrative Services

Lead an operation that fuels student success and economic mobility in the Bay Area. Another Source's client, Skyline College (part of the San Mateo County Community College District), is seeking a Vice President for Administrative Services to join their leadership team in San Bruno, CA. Reporting directly to the President, this executive will serve as the College's chief financial and administrative officer, guiding strategy across finance, facilities, safety, and operations to ensure resources directly drive student success and economic mobility. With a strong fiscal foundation, a new President, and significant capital projects underway, this is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of an equity-driven institution.

Skyline College, located in San Bruno, California, is one of three colleges within the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCD). Skyline College, part of the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCD), invites applications for the role of Vice President of Administrative Services. Serving as the College's chief financial and administrative officer, this executive leader plays a pivotal role in advancing Skyline College's mission of student success, equity, and innovation through strategic oversight of business and administrative operations, financial stewardship, and organizational effectiveness.

As a member of the President's Cabinet, the Vice President provides visionary leadership in the design, development, and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of administrative services. These areas include fiscal operations, budget development and control, procurement, facilities management, emergency preparedness, safety and security, and auxiliary services. This leader ensures that Skyline College's operational infrastructure effectively supports its academic mission and long-term strategic priorities, while also collaborating closely with colleagues across SMCCD.

Anticipated annual salary range : $205,308216,348 depending on experience. Relocation support available.

How you will spend your time :

  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Skyline College President and Cabinet, providing expertise on fiscal, operational, and facilities matters.
  • Interpret and communicate complex financial and legislative information, shaping data-informed decision-making across the College.
  • Contribute to the College's and SMCCD's strategic plans, ensuring administrative services align with institutional priorities and student success initiatives.
  • Financial & Business Services Oversight

  • Lead budget development, financial reporting, and expenditure control to ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Oversee cashiering, purchasing, contract administration, and Associated Students financial services.
  • Ensure compliance with Education Code, Title 5, District policy, and state / federal regulations.
  • Facilities & Operations

  • Oversee Skyline College's maintenance, custodial services, and capital construction planning in partnership with District Facilities.
  • Direct facilities rental programs and manage space utilization to maximize College resources.
  • Ensure safety, security, and emergency preparedness in coordination with District Public Safety and community agencies.
  • Institutional Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen operational effectiveness.
  • Represent Skyline College with community agencies, local government, and regulatory bodies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and service excellence across administrative functions.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field, or licensed CPA (or equivalent education and experience).
  • At least one year of formal training, leadership, or equivalent experience related to the role.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to serving a diverse community.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proven executive experience in higher education administration.
  • Strong record of success in fiscal management, facilities oversight, and comprehensive administrative leadership.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to build consensus, foster collaboration, and lead through influence.

    San Mateo County Community College District's (SMCCCD) 2024 Annual Security Report (ASR), required by the Clery Act, includes statistics for the previous three years (2021-2023) concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by SMCCCD; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from SMCCCD. The 2024 Annual Security Report also outlines various campus safety and security policies concerning crime reporting, prevention and response to sexual and gender violence, alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, emergency response and evacuation procedures, and other matters. The Annual Security Report also includes important tips to help every community member remain safe and avoid becoming a victim of crime. The 2024 Annual Security Report is now available on the Public Safety website. The report includes information about criminal activity on our campuses, emergency procedures, and resources.
