As a Senior Aviation Flight Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of flight software systems for our aviation projects.
You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers to ensure the software meets stringent safety, performance, and reliability standards.
This role requires expertise in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and aviation software.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop flight software for aviation systems, including avionics, flight control systems, and navigation systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineering to define software requirements and ensure alignment with aviation regulations and standards.
- Perform software integration and testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, ensuring reliability and performance in aviation environments.
- Document software design, development, and testing processes.
- Mentor and guide junior software engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in flight software development for aviation systems or similar embedded systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
- Knowledge of aviation systems and subsystems, including avionics, flight control systems, and navigation systems.
- Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies, including version control (Git), continuous integration, and automated testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with commercial aviation projects and working with regulatory bodies such as FAA or EASA.
- Knowledge of safety-critical software development standards (e.g., DO-178C).
- Familiarity with model-based design and development tools (e.g., MATLAB / Simulink).
- Experience with FPGA and hardware / software co-design.
