Role Overview :
Design Engineers prepare suitable, cost-effective severe service control valve designs by performing the essential duties listed below.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the design of severe service control valves, controls, and other flow elements to customer design specifications, ASME Section III, and internal design standards.
- Prepares and checks detailed drawings and bills of materials and releases design packages to manufacturing / assembly.
- Responsible for reviewing customer design specifications and assuring compliance.
- Maintains project document files in accordance with internal / external requirements.
- Performs detailed hydraulic calculations and prepares reports to determine expected equipment performance.
- Performs detailed stress calculations and prepares reports to confirm equipment performance in seismic events.
- Prepares or revises manufacturing drawings as required.
- Compile and writes buyout specifications.
- Works to internal deadlines for Engineering deliverables
- Works effectively with an international team and customers to support projects globally.
- Support hydraulic test campaigns to confirm equipment performance in LOCA or severe accident plant scenarios.
Critical Competencies for Success :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with focus on mechanical, industrial, or similar discipline
- At least 7 years in mechanical product design role.
- Nuclear Experience is a plus.
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office and CAD software (ACAD, Solidworks)
- Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have basic knowledge of properties of gas and liquids thermodynamics.
- Must have knowledge of mechanical design and stress analysis.
- Must have basic knowledge in principles of flow and fluid statics and dynamics.
- Must have manufacturing drawing comprehension.
- Must have knowledge of ANSYS FEA software.
- Experience designing to ASME Section III and RCC-M nuclear codes.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Preferred basic knowledge of properties of engineering materials.
- Preferred basic knowledge of metal removal processes, heat-treating, plating, welding, sheer metal bending, and coating technology.

Salary Range : $95,000.00-$105,000.00 depending on experience
