As a Software Developer I, you will work on development, testing, and maintaining custom third-party software applications and integrations. Your role will be to collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver innovative, industry standard solutions that meet or exceed business requirements to support Homesteaders Life Company’s strategic goals.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions across diverse platforms, including websites, mobile apps, backend services, and integrations with third-party systems.
- Apply Agile engineering practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to IT standards.
- Build and optimize database structures, stored procedures, and CI / CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine technical requirements and documentation.
- Support system upgrades, implementations, and technical research as needed.
Requirements
Must exhibit our Core Values – Be Your Best, Care, Serve Boldly, Be Humble.2+ years of professional experience with Microsoft .NET technologies is a plus but not required.Familiarity with relational databases, web development technologies, COBOL, and SQL Reporting Services is desirable.Knowledge of LifePro Policy Administration System (PAS) is desirable.Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred but not required.Strong foundational understanding of software development principles and practices is desirable.Pay and Benefits Summary :
