The Industrial Engineer will develop and sustain efficient operational methods for engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain that eliminate wastefulness, reduce costs, maintain quality standards and improve profitability.
Responsibilities not limited to :
1. Develop & maintain manufacturing methods within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure accurate costing and planning.
- Develop and maintain the Methods of Manufacture (MOM) “Bill of Materials & Bill of Operations” for products within the ERP system
- Accurately measure work by performing time studies, work sampling, and other predetermined time standard methods
- Establish new products in the ERP system to ensure proper material transactions and cost setting.
- Phase-in methods and product structure changes for existing products in the ERP system from Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s)
2. Develop production solutions that reduce product cost, ensure product quality, and safe working environment.
Perform value stream analysis, sequence of steps, or other process documentation formats to identify and improve work methodsDevelop balanced process flows utilizing lean principlesPerform spatial analysis for material requirements and material presentation to assembly operationsDevelop floor layouts utilizing CAD toolsDesign assembly tools and fixtures required for mechanical assemblyInvestigate and implement other manufacturing processes for efficient productionAssist production management with compliance of health and safety requirements and best3. Ensure efficient deployment of the engineering module within the ERP system.
Review ERP system capabilities and enhancements for appropriate application in manufacturing operationsWork with leadership to engineer data migration into the ERP systemProvide system software training and support to team members4. Observe, troubleshoot, and take action in production to ensure accuracy.
Review and audit job orders to ensure accurate time reporting and material transactionsAnalyze material transactions to maintain system accuracyProvide training and instructions to production ensuring safe and efficient operationsDevelop procedures, and work instructions with supporting documentationWork with Quality Assurance (QA) to resolve material rejections and develop corrective5. Provide backup for Planner Buyer.
Produce job orders and travelers within operations and suppliers.Develop production plans to meet sales order requirements.Ensure material transactions are executed properly, accurately, and timely.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteDatabase management skills to efficiently sort and upload dataEngineering level mathematical skills with respect to data management, statistics, and probability.Proficiency with ERP systemsFamiliarity of process improvement models such as Six Sigma, or Kaizen 5S.Familiar with material properties and manufacturing processes for design.Familiar with Lean ManufacturingCompetencies :
